After analysing the results of the legalization of cannabis in Colorado, Trudeau reiterated his position in favour of the legalization in Canada, saying that Canadians would benefit from analysing the experiences of both Colorado and the state of Washington. On October 17, the first day of legalization, the federal government of Canada introduced that it intends to grant pardons to Canadians convicted of straightforward cannabis possession costs.
